SAFETY IN BEAUTY INDUSTRY
PROTECTING YOURSELF BEFORE UNDERGOING COSMETIC TREATMENT
The beauty industry is flourishing as every year women spend plenty of money on out-of-home cosmetic treatments. According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than $12 billion was spent on surgical and non-surgical procedures in the U.S. in 2013. But as the number of women looking to invest in their beauty is on the rise, so are safety concerns.
“More and more cases of patients and consumers being left with adverse effects from unsafe treatments and providers are emerging,” said Antonia Mariconda, U.K.-based cosmetic coach and founder of the Safety in Beauty Campaign.
