What is platelet rich plasma?

How does platelet rich plasma work?
At the start of the treatment, a small amount of blood is taken from your arm and put into a centrifuge where it is spun for a few minutes until the red blood cells separate from the plasma. The plasma is full of platelets which can generate growth factors and repair any damage to the skin. This plasma is then injected straight back into the skin using a cannula or needle so that it can start work immediately.
