Dr Bhavjit Kaur Reviews the CCR October Expo for Safety in Beauty

The Clinical+Constructive+Reconstructive (CCR) Expo is one of UK’s largest medical exhibition and conferences. This year it was held on 6th and 7th of October, at London Olympia.

It is a unique event which unites professionals from many disciplines at the same time, such as The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), British Cosmetic Dermatology Group (BCDG), and The British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), in attendance there were also: practice management teams, business coaches, marketing companies, training academies and more than 200 exhibitors.

It was attended by more than 5000 delegates. The conference programme was strong with a lot of emphasis on how to avoid complications in cosmetic treatments, and on how to chose the right patient, anatomy and how to handle complications. It was like we were floating in an ocean of knowledge, shared by medical professionals with vast experience in the field of aesthetics, from all around the world, and the UK.

Interestingly, a live stage demonstration of a PDO thread lift was cancelled due to risk of infection, which emphasises the current climate and focus on safety.

A live stage demonstration on treating male and female patients, non surgical nose jobs, and forehead fillers were amongst my favourite presentations, I also found a presentation on the treating skin of colour incredibly interesting.

There were game changer treatments like Plexr, Profhilo and Ultraformer, technology seems to be advancing at a  fast rate, CCR Expo is a fantastic way to view the latest technology and developments in 48 hours.

The drink and networking reception on 6th Evening was a great success. I would highly recommend this event to all, it is a must attend event in 2017.
