The British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS)

The British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) is the only professional medical society in the UK dedicated solely to hair restoration surgery.
There are different categories of membership but the most senior hair transplant surgeons belong to the Full Medical Member (FMM) Hair Transplant Surgeon category.

These doctors agree to abide by the BAHRS Professional Standards for Hair Transplant Surgeons https://www.bahrs.co.uk/content/large/documents/bahrs_standards/pshtsv4june19.pdf

The members of BAHRS sign a Code of Conduct https://www.bahrs.co.uk/content/large/documents/code_of_conduct/fmmcoc-v5mar20.pdf

The BAHRS does not provide any assurance about the clinical skills or surgical results of its members however if you feel that you have had a suboptimal hair transplant in the UK, or overseas, you could opt to have a consultation with a BAHRS FMM to see what can be done to make things better as they will likely have the most experience dealing with repair cases.
To find a BAHRS FMM go to https://www.bahrs.co.uk/find-a-member/, enter your post code, select Full Medical Member Hair Transplant Surgeon from the drop down menu in the member category option.

The BAHRS are not a regulatory body, but a membership association. The BAHRS can look into a complaint if the surgeon who did your hair transplant surgery is a BAHRS member.

If the surgeon is not a member of BAHRS, you can submit a complaint via Safety in Beauty – Submit A Concern in our Menu
