Today our campaign was invited to be part of a media debate, sparked by a report released this morning.

The report stated that the government must protect young people from an ever increasing unregulated cosmetic interventions industry. The report produced by The Nuffield Council on Bioethics, highlighted the growing concern with young people turning to cosmetic enhancements as a result of pressure from social media and peer pressure.

The report also condemned makeover apps and online plastic surgery games targeting children as young as nine. The authors of the report fear that such apps are contributing to growing anxieties around body image.

Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio Bristol invited our campaign to comment our thoughts on the growing concerns. We would like to thank BBC Radio for allowing us the opportunity to raise our campaign concerns and also to voice our thoughts.
